An announcement of the Rector of the University of Warsaw regarding the functioning of UW

Dear Sir or Madam,

In response to the state of epidemic emergency in Poland, declared on 13th March 2020, the Rector of the University of Warsaw made an announcement regarding the regulations on the functioning of UW. The regulations will come into force on 16th March 2020.

The announcement regulates working arrangements of the university administration, circulations of documents and operating of the university building.

The UW administration will work remotely, and access to the university buildings will be limited to the minimum necessary. Details are available on the Polish website of UW, information on the English website will be published today by the end of the day.

Information from the University Library

The library is closed from March 11 to April 14, 2020, according to the Rector’s Order of March 10, 2020 on preventing the spread of COVID-19 virus among the University of Warsaw’s community.
*) University of Warsaw students, PhD students and employees have the possibility of remote access to the collection of books and electronic magazines subscribed to the University of Warsaw, available from the University of Warsaw Library (BUW) in the ‘Online resources’ tab (https://www.buw.uw.edu.pl/zasoby-online/ ), after logging in with the library card number (ELS / ELP number – if these documents were activated as a library card) and passwords.
*) Students, PhD students and UW employees who have ELS and ELP and have not yet created a library account, can activate it remotely. Detailed information and links for activation can be found in the Registration tab at https://www.buw.uw.edu.pl/informacje-praktyczne/jak-vailac/
*) A new password can be obtained through the “Forgot password” option available under the library account login panel.
