Dear Sir/Madam,

The ERC Advanced Grants call was opened on May 28, with a deadline of August 27, 2026, at 17:00—meaning it is just around the corner.

I am pleased to inform you that for the researchers planning to apply for an ERC Advanced Grant in the upcoming call, an online, internal training session for applicants will be held on 29.06.2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:15 PM.
Please find enclosed the
link to registration, which is open until June 25.06. Registered persons will receive a link to the training session on the Zoom platform.

Key Information About the Call at a glance:

  1. Target Audience: Researchers representing any scientific discipline who are recognized leaders in their field. The Principal Investigator (PI) executing an ERC Advanced Grant is expected to be an active scientist with a proven track record of significant research achievements.
  2. Maximum Project Duration: 60 months.
  3. Maximum Project Budget: €2.5 million + an optional €1 million in additional funding (associated, for example, with the purchase of major research equipment, access costs to large-scale research infrastructure, or the costs of experiments or fieldwork), provided these are essential for carrying out the proposed work and are well justified.
  4. Submission: Applications must be submitted online via the Funding and Tenders Portal (F&T Portal).
  5. Evaluation: Applications are evaluated in two stages (written and oral) by domain-specific panels and individual experts from around the world. Application forms are to be downloaded from the F&T Portal.

You are more than welcome to join our online information session!

Information regarding certification exams and foreign language courses.

Dear Sir or Madam,

In connection with the upcoming examination session, we would like to provide important information regarding certification exams and foreign language courses:

Certification exams

Please note that registration for certification exams is mandatory, and once the deadline has passed, it cannot be reopened. As in previous years, the registration period has been shortened for logistical reasons. I would be grateful if you could remind your students of the registration dates.

Registration dates for the 2025/2026 academic year:

  • Summer examination session: 30 April 2026 – 21 May 2026
  •  Resit exams for the summer semester: 10 July 2026 – 14 August 2026

Each student is entitled to two exam tokens (one for the first attempt and one for a resit, if needed). After both tokens have been used, students must register for a remedial course, which provides an additional exam token once the course fee has been paid.

Registration dates for remedial courses:

  • Before summer session exams: 30 April 2026 – 22 May 2026
  •  Before summer semester resit exams: 10 July 2026 – 10 August 2026
Students seeking additional exam tokens should contact Mr. Arkadiusz Misiak, Coordinator of the University System for Foreign Language Teaching, at:
    jezyki.koordynator@uw.edu.pl.

The organisation of certification exams is governed by the following documents:
a) Resolution No. 103 of the Senate of the University of Warsaw of 17 November 2021 on the rules for conducting foreign language courses and administering foreign language exams at the University of Warsaw (UW Monitor 2021, item 285)
b) Ordinance No. 156 of the Rector of the University of Warsaw of 22 December 2021 on the rules for organising foreign language teaching and language proficiency certification (UW Monitor 2021, item 310, as amended)
Detailed regulations are available at: http://jezyki.obce.uw.edu.pl under the tab “Egzaminy certyfikacyjne” (“Certification Exams”).

FOREIGN LANGUAGE COURSES
Registration for foreign language courses for the 2026/2027 academic year will begin on 1 June 2026. The schedule is set out in Resolution No. 2 of the Coordinating Council for Foreign Language Teaching and Language Proficiency Certification of 16 March 2026.
