Welcome Point invites all students for two informational meetings on legal issues concerning residence in Poland. The meeting will be led by specialists from The Association for Legal Intervention, who professionally provide assistance in legalising the stay of foreigners.

University of Warsaw Library (BUW) proposal

Dear Students! The University of Warsaw Library (commonly known under Polish abbreviation: BUW) is willing to organise an online meeting for English speaking students, explaining the organisation and using of the library collection. I highly recommend you to take an interest, as for example the online collection provided by our library is quite substantial and can easily be accessed remotely – if you know how.

Validation of Student ID

To validate student ID please contact Office of Student Affairs at the FA UW for English-language studies by emailing Ms Joanna Chomicz ( to make an appointment, when you can visit the office and validate your ID. Please, do remember that any physical visit to the office, according to the University of Warsaw regulations for the time of the pandemic, requires prior appointment via email, the phone contact is less reliable, as the office is partially working remotely.

How a correctly written application looks like?

We would like to remind you that applications should be submitted via the USOS system from the level of the individual student account. After writing the application (in an understandable and precise way), send information about it to the Vice-dean for Student Affairs prof. dr hab. Agnieszka Tomas For correspondence, use ONLY addresses in the domain.

The Rector’s scholarship

Dear Students,

The Rector’s scholarship is now at your fingertips, and only in the online version:

In the 2020/2021 academic year, the application for the rector’s scholarship is submitted in the form of an electronic document by the USOSweb.
The deadline for submitting an application for the rector’s scholarship is November 3, 2020. By the end of this day, students must apply for the rector’s scholarship at USOSweb. The scholarship application must be submitted to the BSS social section (Kazimierz Palace building).

Museum practice

Dear students! According with the Rector’s Ordinances No. 233 and 234 on the functioning of the University of Warsaw during the epidemic, the classes which must be held in classrooms (not online) are allowed only in the buildings of the University of Warsaw. Therefore, field exercises are canceled and  the equivalents of excavations carried out in museums can only take place in the Museum of the University of Warsaw. This rule is valid until further notice.

Praktyki realizowane w muzeach

Szanowni Studenci!  Pragnę wyjaśnić, że w związku z Zarządzeniami Rektora nr 233 i 234 w sprawie funkcjonowania Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego w okresie stanu epidemii, zajęcia o charakterze praktycznym, które muszą odbywać się stacjonarnie powinny odbywać się na terenie Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego. W związku z tym, ćwiczenia terenowe są odwołane, a ekwiwalenty wykopalisk realizowane w muzeum oraz zajęcia warsztatowe (praktyki muzealne) mogą obywać się wyłącznie w Muzeum UW, po uprzednim uzgodnieniu z Prodziekan ds. studenckich. Zasada ta obowiązuje do odwołania lub odpowiednich nowelizacji ww. zarządzeń. Dr hab. Agnieszka Tomas
