Dear Students,

The Rector’s scholarship is now at your fingertips, and only in the online version:

In the 2020/2021 academic year, the application for the rector’s scholarship is submitted in the form of an electronic document by the USOSweb.
The deadline for submitting an application for the rector’s scholarship is November 3, 2020. By the end of this day, students must apply for the rector’s scholarship at USOSweb. The scholarship application must be submitted to the BSS social section (Kazimierz Palace building).

Online Welcome Week

Dear Students!
The new academic year 2020/2021 is ahead of us. For many of you,
it will be the beginning of your student adventure with the Univer-
sity of Warsaw, for others it will be a continuation. This upcoming
academic year will be different for all of us. We all need to face the
challenges of living and studying in a pandemic. Above all, we need
to take on the challenge of maintaining the continuity of high-level
education and academic research.
We can assure you that the Rector’s Team will support you strong-
ly, ensuring optimal conditions for your development not only in
the upcoming academic year. We want online classes to be a useful
supplement to your study process, an opportunity to improve your
competences and expand your knowledge. We would like everyone
to feel good at our University and to be sure that it is the best place
to shape their future.
To guarantee this, we will begin a reform of digital tools used at the
University of Warsaw. We have no doubts that the digitalization of
our University is a process that must accelerate to catch up with cur-
rent standards. We hope that you will also be actively involved in this
process and that the new reality will also reflect your experiences,
expectations and needs.
We encourage you to take advantage of all the opportunities that
studying at the University of Warsaw offers and to actively partici –

Online Welcome Week

Dear Student,

We would like to invite you for the series of meetings, which will inaugurate the academic year 2020/2021. Our Online Welcome Week 2020 lasts from 6th to 9th of October.

Our Online Welcome Week starts with Welcome Days – both in Polish (on 6th of October) and English (on 7th of October).

At the meeting you will learn the most important things about the University itself, its structure and basic rules. We will also give you more information about other possibilities that are waiting for you as members of the community.

A request to students

Dear Students, we are working on decisions concerning the organization of the winter semester of the academic year 2020/21. At present we are trying to collect information which will help us to decide whether and which classes will be held at the University and which will be based on distance online learning.
We are asking you to send us information whether you are able to arrive in Poland and participate in some classes at the University. We would also like to know whether you have any obstacles in participating in online classes.

‘Career Planning’ workshops

Dear Students,
We would like to invite you to the next online workshop organised by Welcome Point. This
time it will be ‘Career Planning’ workshops with a professional trainer Joanna Jasińska, PhD.
The purpose of our workshop is:
– getting to know the trends on the Polish market, employers' expectations and effective ways
of looking for a job
– clarification of skills and predispositions and individual professional goals of workshop
– developing application documents (CV and covering letter),
– simulation of interview with the employer regarding work – self-presentation
– creating an individual (general) professional activation plan for each participant

WHEN? 30 th  – 31 st  July 2020, 10 am – 1:30 pm.
Please note that attendance during two days of workshops is required.
WHERE? If you qualify for the workshop, we will send you a link to the meeting on one of
the online platforms.
Who can participate?
– 2 nd and 3 rd year students of 1 st cycle (Bachelor’s degree)
– 4 th and 5 th year students of uniform Master studies
– students of 2 nd cycle (Master’s degree)

University of Warsaw and funded by European Social Fund. The objective, pursuing at the University
of Warsaw between 2018-2022, is to develop competence of students and employees as well as
implement the instruments which upgrade the management process of the University of Warsaw.

New guidance for studying and working during coronavirus outbreak

Dear Members of the UW community,

Please familiarize yourself with the new regulations of the UW rector as of 7th April regarding studying and working at the University of Warsaw during coronavirus outbreak. They concern the:

  • Extension of the period for conducting online lectures and classes for students, doctoral candidates, post-diploma learners (until 15th May);
  • Work limitations on the UW campuses (until 15th May);
  • Suspension of business travels abroad and participation in domestic conferences (until 30th June);
  • Cancellation of open events, e.g. conferences, symposiums or lectures (until 31st August);
  • Suspension of accommodating new students in residence halls and other facilities, and prohibition from visiting these places (until 30th June);
  • 50% reduction in accommodation fee (in May 2020) for students, doctoral candidates, postgraduate students of the School of Education of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation and the University of Warsaw, and participants of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, who live in UW facilities.
