I kindly inform you that on November 10, the results of the election of student representatives at the Faculty of Archeology were announced.

The following were elected to the Student Council of the Faculty of Archeology of the University of Warsaw:

Finansowanie badań naukowych

Szanowni Państwo!

Serdecznie zapraszam pracowników Wydziału Archeologii oraz doktorantów na spotkanie, podczas którego porozmawiamy o możliwościach finansowania badań naukowych. Ponieważ instytucje grantowe wprowadzają nowe programy i modyfikują zasady w programach dotychczasowych, celem spotkania będzie (1) usystematyzowanie wiedzy o tym, skąd można pozyskać środki na projekty badawcze, od najmniejszych (rzędu kilku tysięcy złotych) do największych (miliony euro) oraz (2) zidentyfikowanie indywidualnych potrzeb i zaplanowanie ewentualnych dalszych spotkań o charakterze warsztatowym poświęconych konkretnym programom grantowym.

Spotkanie rozpocznie się w środę 16 listopada o godzinie 15:00 w sali 2.10 (ewentualnie nieco później, jeśli przeciągną się zaplanowane na ten dzień obrony prac doktorskich).

October 31 – WA UW building closed

In connection with the Regulation No. 130 of the Rector of the University of Warsaw (of October 20, 2021), October 31, 2022 is a day off for UW employees who are not academic teachers. Therefore, the building of the Faculty of Archeology of the University of Warsaw will be closed.

We would like to bring to your attention an international workshop devoted to the topic of regional variation in Mycenaean pottery, organized by Bartłomiej Lis from the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology, Polish Academy of Sciences. It is a two-day online event, scheduled on October 27th and 28th, and starting at 1 PM (Central European Summer Time).

„Community Archaeology in Rural Environments (CARE) project: reflections from Poland”

Dear Students,

Join us for the third lecture in the “Heritage Month” series organized as part of PCMA Seminars:
Dr. Patrycja Filipowicz (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań) – „Community Archaeology in Rural Environments (CARE) project: reflections from Poland”.
The seminar will be held on Thursday, 20th October, at 11:00 am CET on Zoom.
The aim of the “Heritage Month” organized by Dr. Tomomi Fushiya (PCMA UW) is to introduce archaeologists and students to different approaches and practices of collaborative archaeology and heritage studies.
