New announcement from the Rector of UW

In response to the state of epidemic emergency in Poland, declared on 13th March 2020, the Rector of the University of Warsaw made an announcement regarding the regulations on the functioning of UW. The regulations will come into force on 16th March 2020.

The announcement regulates working arrangements of the university administration, circulations of documents and operating of the university building.

The UW administration will work remotely, and access to the university buildings will be limited to the minimum necessary. Details are available on the Polish website of UW, and  on the English website .

Dear All,
according to the Ministry of Higher Education your ELS (Student ID) will be valid until the end of May, without the need to validate it at the University – INFO – in Polish only.

Please, be aware that ALL the classes and most of the office hours are cancelled. Including the spring field walking surveys and any other type of trips.

In case of need, please contact the Institute personel via phone or e-mail. Some of the classes will continue through on-line tools (platforms, mail, Google docs, Skype and so on) – please follow the instructions of your professors.

Information on the situation

In accordance with the Regulation of the Rector of the University of Warsaw dated to 10/03/2020, we would like to inform that the Dean’s Office for Student Affairs will be open from 10.00 to 14.00. Students are kindly asked to avoid the physical/personal visits, and to contact by phone or electronically in case of need.
If anyone has to submit any application, please do that through USOS, and the copy to the dean’s office by e-mail, enclosing the opinion of student supervisors / directors. You will receive an answer in USOS.
All students who need their ELS (student ID card) renewed/extended may come personally to do so from Monday to Thursday between 10.15.-13.45.
